Step 1 — The quote (free, and often without us coming out)
Send us your address and a couple of photos of the front of the house. We can pull the property up by satellite, measure your roofline, and get you a real number fast. If the roof is complicated or you want us to walk it in person, we'll come out. Either way the quote is free and there's no pressure.
Step 2 — Deciding the run
This is where a pro install separates itself. We map which lines actually get lit:
- Front-facing eaves and gables — the money lines, always.
- Peaks and dormers — these are what make a house look "designed" instead of outlined.
- Garage line, porch, and any second-story overhang that faces the street.
- Side and rear runs only if you actually use that space, like a deck or pool area.
Lighting every inch of a house is usually a waste of money. Lighting the right lines costs less and looks better.
Step 3 — Mounting
The track goes into a channel fastened under the eave or fascia so the LEDs aim down and out. Fasteners are placed into solid material at set intervals, corners get proper transitions instead of being bent, and every connection is sealed against water. We work off ladders and stabilizers and we're licensed and insured, which matters when someone is working over your landscaping and your gutters.
Step 4 — Power and controller
The controller and transformer get mounted somewhere dry and accessible, usually near an existing exterior outlet in the garage area or under a soffit overhang. We get it on your Wi-Fi, confirm the signal reaches, and label anything you'd need to find later.
Step 5 — Setup and handoff
Before we leave, we set up your app, build your everyday warm white scene, load in holiday presets, and set the sunset schedule. Then we walk you through changing it yourself, because you should never have to call us to turn your house orange in October.
What to ask any installer in NJ
- Are you licensed and insured? Get the certificate, not the answer.
- Is the track being channeled and sealed, or just screwed to the fascia?
- What's the warranty on the labor, separate from the manufacturer's warranty on the lights?
- Who handles it if a section goes out in year two?
