Bigger properties, longer approaches
Somerset is where the lots open up. Bernardsville, Basking Ridge and Warren have serious properties — long driveways, mature trees, houses set well back from the road.
That distance is the whole design problem. A roofline outline that looks great from 40 feet away is a thin bright line from 200 feet down a driveway. Properties like these need the approach lit as much as the house: wrapped trees along the drive, lit columns at the entry, and enough brightness on the roof to hold up at distance. Get that right and the effect when you turn in is genuinely dramatic.
The other Somerset factor is the older housing stock in Bernardsville and Peapack — real historic homes with original wood trim and slate or cedar roofs. Nothing gets stapled or nailed on those. Everything clips, and on slate we work off the gutter line only.
What Somerset homeowners usually want
Restraint, almost every time. Warm white C9s, even spacing, clean lines, no color chase and no inflatables. It is a more architectural look than a festive one, and it is usually the right call for these houses.
If you want color, a permanent RGBIC system is the way to get both — elegant warm white most of the year, full color when you want it, from an app.
What every install includes
- Commercial-grade LED bulbs and wire, custom-cut to your roofline.
- Professional install with clips. Nothing stapled or nailed into fascia, shingles or trim.
- In-season service calls included. Something goes dark, we come back out.
- January takedown and storage. Nothing ends up in your garage.

Somerset County lighting FAQs
Do you really cover Somerset County?
Yes. We are based in Ocean County and Somerset County is a little over an hour away, so we schedule it in blocks rather than one job at a time. We cover Bridgewater, Basking Ridge, Bernardsville, Hillsborough, Montgomery, Warren, Watchung, Branchburg and Somerville. It is our own insured crew, not a subcontractor or a franchise handoff.
How much does Christmas light installation cost in Somerset County?
Most single-story homes with the front roofline lit run about $400 to $700, a typical two-story about $700 to $1,400, and larger full installs with peaks, columns and trees $1,500 and up. Price is driven by linear feet, roof height and pitch. You can get a ballpark for your own house with our free cost calculator.
Is there a minimum job size in Somerset County?
For counties further from our base there is a minimum, because a seasonal install means three trips out — install, service and takedown. We will tell you honestly on the phone whether your job clears it. If it does not, we would rather say so than take the job and rush it.
When should I book?
August through October. There are only about five prime installation weekends between Halloween and Thanksgiving. For counties outside Ocean and Monmouth we work in scheduled block weeks, so once a block fills the next opening can be a week or more out. Book earlier than you think you need to.
Do you supply the lights?
Yes. Seasonal installs include commercial-grade LED lights we supply and cut to fit your roofline, professional install, in-season service, removal in January and storage until next year. You are not buying, storing or replacing anything.
Do you install permanent lighting too?
Yes, and for homes further from our base it often makes more sense. A permanent LED track is installed once and then does Halloween, Christmas, the Fourth of July and everyday warm white from an app, with no annual install or takedown trip.
